How to Get to Playa de Rinlo

Getting to Playa de Rinlo is a simple task, which makes it even more attractive for a getaway. Access is primarily by road, and the most comfortable way is by car. If we're coming from the east (Asturias) or the west (the rest of Galicia), the Cantabrian Motorway (A-8) is our best ally. We must take the exit towards Ribadeo and, once there, follow the signs to Rinlo. The village is very well signposted and easily accessible from the N-634.

Once in Rinlo, access to the beach is direct. The village is small and its streets naturally guide us towards the coast. Regarding parking, especially during the summer months, it can be a bit more difficult to find a spot right next to the sand, but the village has several public parking areas, often free, from which we can walk to the cove in just a few minutes. We always recommend arriving early to secure a good spot, especially if we visit Playa de Rinlo during the high season.

Although the car is the preferred option, there are also some public transport alternatives. There are bus lines connecting Ribadeo with other Galician and Asturian cities. From the Ribadeo bus station, we can opt for a taxi or, at certain times of the year, there are local bus services with more limited schedules connecting the urban center of Ribadeo with Rinlo. However, for greater flexibility and to explore the surroundings, a private vehicle is undoubtedly the most recommended option.

The Sand and Water

Playa de Rinlo captivates us, first and foremost, with the quality of its sand and the transparency of its waters. The sand is fine and golden in tone, very pleasant to the touch, making it an ideal place to walk barefoot or for children to play and build sandcastles. Despite being a relatively small cove, its size is sufficient to feel comfortable and find our own corner of peace.

The type of terrain on this beach is mixed, predominantly sandy in the bathing area, but with rock formations at its ends and in the surroundings. As a Blue Flag beach, it has a series of infrastructures that significantly improve the visitor experience. We find showers, perfect for washing off the salt and sand after a refreshing swim, and toilets/WCs that are kept clean and in good condition, something essential for a worry-free day.

Safety on the beach is a priority, and therefore, during the high bathing season, we have a lifeguard service. The presence of lifeguards provides us with additional peace of mind, especially if we are with children, knowing that professionals are watching over our safety. Furthermore, as mentioned earlier, the parking, although not directly on the sand, is located just a few meters away in the village of Rinlo itself, facilitating access for bathers.

A strong point of Playa de Rinlo is its proximity to the urban center of Rinlo. This means we not only have the basic beach services but also enjoy the village's offerings. We can find chiringuitos and restaurants just a few meters away, where we can delight in the local gastronomy or simp
