How to Get to Playa de Llas

Getting to Playa de Llas is really simple, making it a very convenient destination for any type of traveler. If we come by car, the A-8 highway (Autovía del Cantábrico) is the main access route to the Mariña Lucense. Once in Foz, the beach is perfectly signposted and its access is direct from the town center. You won't have any problem finding it, as it's located in a well-connected and visible area.

By Car

• From the east (Asturias/Cantabria): Take the A-8 towards A Coruña/Ferrol until the Foz exit. Once in Foz, follow the signs to the beaches or the town center. Playa de Llas is one of the main ones and is well indicated.
• From the west (A Coruña/Ferrol): Take the A-8 towards Gijón/Oviedo until the Foz exit. Same thing, follow the local signs.

By Public Transport

Although public transport is less frequent than in big cities, Foz has bus lines connecting with other towns in the Mariña Lucense and, to a lesser extent, with cities like Lugo or A Coruña. Once at the Foz bus station, Playa de Llas is within easy walking distance, enjoying a pleasant stroll through the town.

The Sand and Water

The first thing that will captivate you when you step onto Playa de Llas is its sand. It's a fine and golden sand, incredibly soft underfoot, inviting you to walk barefoot or let children play building castles without worrying about roughness. The expanse of the sandy area means that, even on the busiest days, there's always enough space to lay out your towel and enjoy your own corner of peace.

The waters of Playa de Llas are another of its great attractions. They are generally calm and crystal clear, with moderate waves that make them ideal for swimming for all ages. The water quality is excellent, a key factor for obtaining its Blue Flag. The temperature, as is usual in the Cantabrian Sea, is refreshing, perfect for relieving the heat on summer days, but not so cold as to deter a good dip. • Parking: As we already mentioned, there are parking areas nearby, although during peak times it can be a challenge to find a spot.
• Chiringuitos and Restaurants: Along the promenade that borders the beach, you'll find several chiringuitos and establishments where you can have a cool drink, an ice cream, or even enjoy a good meal with sea views. It's perfect for those days when we don't feel like carrying a cooler.
• Sunshade and Sunbed Rental: For those who prefer to travel light or simply enjoy an extra bit of comfort, there are usually sunshade and sunbed rental services, making the beach day even easier.

Best Time to Visit

Although Playa de Llas is beautiful in any season, the best time to visit and fully enjoy its charms is, without a doubt, during the summer months, from June to September. It is during this period when the temperatures are at their highest.
