When we think of beaches in Huelva, Playa de La Antilla always comes to mind for its unique combination of services, natural beauty, and a welcoming atmosphere that invites you to return year after year. It's a beach that has it all: from sand that caresses your feet to serene waters perfect for bathing. We love how this beach adapts to all audiences, becoming the ideal setting for both an active vacation and a pure relaxation getaway. It is, without a doubt, one of the jewels of Lepe.

How to Get to Playa de La Antilla

Getting to Playa de La Antilla is relatively easy, and the options vary depending on where we start from. We always recommend planning the trip in advance, especially if traveling during high season, to ensure a smooth arrival.

By Car

This is, by far, the most comfortable and flexible option for most of our visitors. From Huelva city, the journey is approximately 40-50 minutes via the A-49, taking exit 117 towards Lepe/La Antilla. From Seville, the A-49 takes us directly, with a trip that usually lasts about an hour and a quarter. The road is in excellent condition and offers a landscape that begins to smell of pine and sea as we approach the coast. Once in La Antilla, we will find various parking areas, some free and others paid, especially near the promenade. We usually look for parking on the streets adjacent to the center or in the designated parking lots, which, although they can fill up, offer a good solution.

By Bus

For those who prefer not to drive or do not have their own vehicle, Playa de La Antilla is well connected by bus. There are regular lines connecting Lepe with Huelva and other nearby towns, and from Lepe, you can take a local bus or even a taxi to the beach. In summer, the frequency of these services usually increases to meet tourist demand. Although it may not be the most direct option for everyone, it is an ecological and carefree alternative.

By Plane

If we come from farther away, the nearest airports are Seville (SVQ) and Faro, in Portugal (FAO). Both are approximately an hour and a quarter away by car. From either, we can rent a car or take a bus to Huelva and then transfer to Lepe/La Antilla. We always consider the Faro option for its proximity and the possibility of enjoying a brief trip along the Portuguese coast before entering Huelva.

• Bathrooms/WCs: There are clean and well-maintained public toilet modules, a fundamental service for long stays at the beach.
• Chiringuitos and Restaurants: The gastronomic offer right on the beach is varied and delicious. From informal chiringuitos where you can enjoy grilled sardines or fresh prawns, to restaurants with more elaborate proposals. We love the sea breeze while enjoying a good rice dish or fresh fish.
• Lifeguard Service: During the bathing season, the beach has a team of lifeguards and surveillance posts, which gives us great peace of mind, especially when we go with children. Their presence is a fundamental pillar for safety.
