How to get to Playa de Patalavaca

Getting to Playa de Patalavaca is a simple task, thanks to the excellent infrastructure of Gran Canaria. We always recommend planning the journey a little to save time and enjoy it to the maximum from the first moment. The beach is conveniently located in the south of the island, which facilitates access from the airport and the main cities.

By car

If you choose the car, which is the most flexible option and the one we prefer for exploring the island at our own pace, the route is very direct. From Gran Canaria Airport (GCLP) or from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, you must take the GC-1 motorway heading south. It is a modern and well-signposted road. After about 30-40 minutes of travel, depending on traffic, you will have to take the exit that indicates 'Arguineguín / Patalavaca'. Once on the local road, the signs will easily guide you to the beach. Regarding parking, you will find options both free on nearby streets and paid in private car parks or designated areas, especially in high season. We always advise arriving early to secure a good spot, especially if you visit Playa de Patalavaca in the summer months or during weekends.

By public transport

The Global bus network in Gran Canaria is very efficient and connects Playa de Patalavaca with the main points of the island. If you are coming from Las Palmas, Puerto Rico, Maspalomas, or the airport, there are several lines that will drop you off at stops very close to the beach. For example, line 91 connects Las Palmas with Puerto Rico, passing through Patalavaca. Line 1 is another very useful option that runs along the south coast. It is an economical and sustainable alternative, ideal if you don't want to worry about parking. The stops are usually just a few minutes' walk from the sand, making the journey very comfortable.

Walking or by bicycle

From Arguineguín, a pleasant promenade will take you directly to the beach in about 15-20 minutes.
