How to get to Playa de Sa Riera

Getting to Playa de Sa Riera is relatively straightforward, although, as with many popular coves on the Costa Brava, patience is a virtue, especially during the summer months. We always recommend planning the route in advance to avoid setbacks.

By car

The most comfortable way to get there is undoubtedly by car. From Barcelona or Girona, we take the AP-7 highway and then the exit towards Palafrugell/Palamós, following the C-31 road. Once in Begur, the signs to 'Sa Riera' are clear. The journey from Girona city is approximately 50 minutes, while from Barcelona it can take about 1 hour and 45 minutes. It is important to note that, once near the beach, finding parking can be a challenge in high season. There are several paid parking areas, some closer to the sand than others. Our recommendation is to arrive early in the morning or late in the afternoon to secure a good spot. Some sections of the road are narrow and winding, adding a touch of adventure to the trip.

By public transport

Public transport options are more limited. There are bus lines connecting Begur with other nearby towns and with Girona. However, to get directly to the beach from the town of Begur, you may need a taxi or to walk, as the frequency of local buses can be scarce. If you are staying in Begur, the walk to the beach is a pleasant stroll, although with some slopes.

On foot via the Caminos de Ronda

For the more adventurous, a spectacular way to reach Playa de Sa Riera is via the famous Caminos de Ronda.
