How to Get to Cala Giverola

Getting to Cala Giverola is relatively straightforward, although it requires a small detour from the main routes, which helps preserve its charm. If we are coming from Tossa de Mar, the cove is located about 5 kilometers to the north, following the winding GI-682 road towards Sant Feliu de Guíxols. The drive is the most comfortable option and rewards us with spectacular panoramic views of the coast.

For those who prefer not to drive, there is a water-taxi service that departs regularly from the main beach of Tossa de Mar and drops us off directly on the sand of Giverola. This is a fantastic option to enjoy the marine scenery and avoid parking worries. If we choose to drive, we will find a paid parking lot, managed by the tourist resort located in the cove, which guarantees some order and availability, especially during the high season. However, we recommend arriving early to secure a good spot, as the popularity of this Tossa de Mar beach is high.

The Sand and Water

The sand of Cala Giverola is undoubtedly one of its greatest attractions. It is fine and of a beautiful golden color that shines under the Mediterranean sun. If we want to enjoy all the services, the liveliest atmosphere, and the warmest water temperature, the months of July and August are ideal. However, these are also the months with the highest influx, meaning the cove will be more crowded and parking harder to find.

For those who prefer a quieter and more relaxed experience, the months of June and September are perfect. The weather is still excellent, the water is pleasant, and the tourist influx is considerably lower. It is the ideal time to enjoy the beauty of the cove in a more serene atmosphere, perfect for relaxation. Even spring (April-May) and early autumn (October) offer sunny and pleasant days for walking and enjoying the landscape, although beach services may be more limited and the water cooler for swimming.
