How to Get to Playa de Ondarreta

Getting to Playa de Ondarreta is relatively easy, given its privileged location in Donostia-San Sebastian. We always recommend exploring the city on foot, as distances are manageable and every corner is an invitation to surprise. However, there are multiple options to access this beautiful spot.

By Car

If you're coming by car, you should know that direct access to the beach is easy, but parking in Donostia can be a challenge, especially in high season. There are nearby underground car parks, such as the Ondarreta Parking or the Igueldo Parking (though the latter is more oriented towards the amusement park), which are your best option. The rate is usually hourly and can be high, but it guarantees the comfort of having your vehicle safely stored. Remember that many streets in the center are pedestrian-only or have restricted access for residents, so plan your route in advance.

By Public Transport

Public transport in Donostia is excellent and is the option we most often use. The urban bus network (Dbus) has several lines that will drop you off a few meters from the beach. Some of the lines that pass near Playa de Ondarreta include line 5 (Benta Berri), line 16 (Igeldo), or line 25 (Benta Berri-Añorga). It's a journey of about 20-30 minutes from the town hall, completely flat and with spectacular views. If you prefer a bicycle, Donostia has a good network of bidegorris (bike lanes) that will allow you to get there comfortably. There are bicycle rental points in various parts of the city.
