How to Get to Praia da Leirosa

By Private Car

From Coimbra, the journey takes approximately 30-40 minutes, covering a distance of about 30 kilometers. We suggest taking the national road N109 towards Figueira da Foz, and then following the signs to the beach. The roads are in good condition and the scenery along the way is pleasant, with agricultural fields and small villages giving us a first glimpse of Portuguese rural life. There are extensive areas of free parking near the beach, which is a great advantage, although on the busiest days in August it may be necessary to arrive early to secure a good spot. The road infrastructure is well signposted, making navigation intuitive even for first-time visitors to the area. For those coming from other parts of Portugal, the A1 motorway (connecting Lisbon and Porto) is the main artery, from which you can turn off towards Coimbra and then follow the signs to the coast.
