How to Get to Playa de la Romana

By Car

For many, the car is the most comfortable and flexible option. Playa de la Romana is well connected by road:

• From the north or south: The AP-7 motorway (exit 44 for Peñíscola/Alcossebre or exit 45 for Torreblanca/Alcossebre) and the national road N-340 are the main access routes. Once on the N-340, you must take the turnoff towards Alcossebre. The signage is clear and will guide us directly to the coast.
• Parking: One of the great advantages of this beach in Castellón is the availability of parking areas nearby, both free and paid during the high season. Although in the summer months it can be a bit more difficult to find a spot first thing in the morning, with a little patience or by arriving early, we always find a spot to leave our vehicle and enjoy the sand without worries.

By Public Transport

Although the car offers more freedom, public transport is a viable alternative:

• Train: The nearest train stations are Oropesa del Mar (about 20 km away) and Benicarló-Peñíscola (about 30 km away), both with long and medium-distance connections. From these stations, we can take a bus or a taxi that will take us directly to Alcossebre and, therefore, to Playa de la Romana. It is an option that we consider ideal for those who prefer to travel stress-free.
• Bus: Alcossebre has bus lines connecting it with nearby towns and train stations. During the summer season, the frequency of these services usually increases, facilitating access to the beach.

By Plane

For those coming from farther away, the nearest airports are:

• Castellón Airport (CDT): About 25-30 km away, it is the closest and most convenient option, with national and international flights. From there, we can rent a car or take a taxi/bus.
• Valencia Airport (VLC): About 100 km away, it offers a greater variety of flights. From Valencia, we can take a train to Oropesa or Benicarló, or rent a car for the final leg of the journey.
