How to get to Playa de El Sable

Getting to Playa de El Sable is relatively easy, which adds an extra point to its appeal, especially if we are traveling with family or a lot of luggage. The beach is located in the municipality of Val de San Vicente, very close to the town of Pesues and San Vicente de la Barquera, one of the most iconic coastal villages in Cantabria.

Road access

If we come by car, the most common and comfortable way to get there is via the A-8 motorway (Autovía del Cantábrico). We must take exit 272 towards Pesues/Val de San Vicente. From there, the signs will easily guide us to the beach. The road network is well signposted, and the journey is usually pleasant, offering glimpses from the car of the green and mountainous landscape so characteristic of Cantabria.

Parking

One of the advantages of Playa de El Sable is that it has nearby Parking areas, which greatly facilitates the visit. During the summer months, the parking lot can fill up, especially on weekends, so we recommend arriving early to secure a good spot. We will often find designated parking areas near the beach access, some of them free. This is a great relief, as it allows us to arrive comfortably and without the worry of searching for a spot for a long time.

Public transport

While public transport may not be as direct as a car, there are bus lines connecting the main towns of Cantabria with Val de San Vicente.
