How to get to Playa de Torreguadiaro

Getting to Playa de Torreguadiaro is quite straightforward, making it an accessible destination for many. If you're coming by car, which is the most common option, the beach is perfectly connected via the A-7 motorway (formerly the N-340), which runs along the entire coast. Taking the Torreguadiaro or Sotogrande exit, you'll find clear signs to reach the village and, consequently, the beach.

By car

From Málaga or the Costa del Sol, the journey is direct via the A-7 towards Algeciras. From Cádiz city or Jerez de la Frontera, you'll need to take the A-381 and then connect to the A-7 towards Málaga. The advantage of travelling by car is the flexibility to explore the surroundings, something we always recommend. Once in Torreguadiaro, you'll find several parking areas, both free and paid, especially during the high season months. Although finding a parking spot in the middle of August can be a challenge, availability is reasonable the rest of the year, and there are always options near the main beach access points.

By public transport

If you prefer public transport, there are intercity bus lines connecting Torreguadiaro with nearby towns like San Roque, La Línea de la Concepción, or Estepona. The Portillo bus company (now Avanza) operates regular routes that will drop you off in the centre of the village, just a few minutes' walk from the shore. Although it's not the most comfortable option for bringing chairs, umbrellas, and all your beach gear, it is a viable alternative for those without their own vehicle or who prefer not to worry about parking. However, for a complete experience and freedom of movement, we always advise using a car.

The sand and water

The first thing we notice when stepping onto Playa de Torreguadiaro is the quality of its sand. It's a fine, golden sand, very pleasant to the touch, inviting you to lie down and relax under the sun. It's the perfect type of sand for building castles, for long barefoot walks, or simply for feeling it slip through your fingers. The type of ground is predominantly sand, which facilitates access to the sea and makes it very comfortable for everyone, from the youngest to the oldest.
