How to get to Playa de la Costilla

Getting to Playa de la Costilla in Rota is really simple, thanks to its excellent location and the good connections in the area. Whether we come by car, public transport, or even on foot if we are staying in the center of Rota, access is very comfortable.

By private car

If we opt for the comfort of our own vehicle, the A-491 is the main road connecting Rota with El Puerto de Santa María and, therefore, with the national and regional road network of Andalusia. Once in Rota, signs pointing to the urban center or 'beaches' will guide us directly. Playa de la Costilla is located right in the heart of the municipality, so it is easy to find.

#### Parking

Regarding parking, being an urban and very popular beach, especially in high season, finding a spot may require a bit of patience. There are several options:

• Paid parking: There are several underground and surface paid parking lots near the promenade and the center. They are usually the safest and most comfortable option, although with a cost.
• On-street parking: On the streets adjacent to the beach and the promenade, it is possible to find parking, although many are in blue zones (ORA) and have time limits or require payment. It is advisable to arrive early, especially in summer, to secure a good spot.
• Nearby residential areas: A little further from the front line, in residential areas, you can sometimes find free parking, although this involves a short walk to the beach.

By public transport

• Bus: Rota has a good network of intercity buses connecting it with important cities like Cádiz, Jerez de la Frontera, or El Puerto de Santa María. Once at the Rota bus station, Playa de la Costilla is within walking distance (about 10-15 minutes) or a short trip by urban bus or taxi.
• Catamaran (from Cádiz): One of the most picturesque and pleasant ways to get to Rota from Cádiz is by catamaran. This service offers us spectacular views of the Bay of Cádiz and drops us off directly at the port of Rota, a short distance from the beach. It is an experience we highly recommend.

On foot or by bicycle

For those staying in Rota, Playa de la Costilla is perfectly accessible on foot from any point in the urban center. The promenade, moreover, is ideal for a pleasant bicycle ride, enjoying the sea breeze and the views.

Playa de la Costilla is, in our humble opinion, one of the most attractive beaches in the province of Cádiz in terms of its natural characteristics. The combination of its sand and the quality of its waters make it an idyllic place for enjoyment.

Its uniform texture and the absence of stones or pebbles on the shore make it extremely comfortable for all ages. Furthermore, the cleanliness of the sand is an aspect we care a lot about and here it is maintained impeccably, which contributes to the feeling of well-being and neatness we perceive.
