How to Get to Playa de La Calita

Getting to Playa de La Calita is surprisingly easy, which contributes to its popularity. Its privileged location in El Puerto de Santa María, very close to the city center, greatly facilitates arrival, whether we are just passing through or staying in the city.

By Car

If we choose to drive, the A-4 highway is the main access route to El Puerto de Santa María from cities like Seville or Cádiz. Once in the municipality, the signs to the beach are clear. We will find several parking areas nearby, both free and paid, especially on the adjacent streets. During the summer months and on weekends, it can be a bit more difficult to find a spot, so we recommend arriving early to secure a good place. The proximity to the Paseo Marítimo makes finding parking easier.

By Public Transport

For those who prefer public transport, El Puerto de Santa María has a good network of urban buses connecting different points of the city with the beach area. Several lines have stops a short distance from La Calita, making the journey comfortable and efficient. Furthermore, the El Puerto de Santa María train station, with Cercanías and Media Distancia connections, is not far away, and from there it's easy to take a taxi or a local bus to the beach. If we are coming from Cádiz, the 'Catamarán de la Bahía' is a beautiful and sustainable option, which will drop us off at the marina, a pleasant walk from the beach.

On Foot or by Bicycle

If we are staying in the center of El Puerto de Santa María, the beach is accessible via a pleasant walk. The route is flat and allows us to enjoy the city's maritime and urban atmosphere before reaching the sand. For cycling enthusiasts, there are bike lanes in some areas that facilitate access, and it's a fantastic way to explore the surroundings while heading to our beach destination.

The Sand and Water

Playa de La Calita welcomes us with a characteristic that many value above all else: its fine, golden sand. It's a soft sand, ideal for walking barefoot, for building sandcastles with the little ones, or simply for spreading out our towel and enjoying the sun without discomfort.
