Although the municipality in question is Burgas, this coastal gem is strategically situated between the major cities of Varna and Burgas itself, offering a perfect balance between the tranquility of a beach town and accessibility to larger urban centers. It's a beach that has captivated us with its expanse, golden sand, and calm waters, making it an ideal place for all types of travelers, especially families.

When we think of Bulgarian beaches, Playa de Obzor presents itself as an unbeatable option. We're looking at a vast sandy stretch that extends for almost 10 kilometers, a perfect canvas where every visitor can find their own corner of happiness. From livelier areas with beach bars and activities, to more secluded zones where the sound of the waves is the only melody, Obzor offers a versatility that few beaches can match. It's a place where the sun kisses the sand for most of the day, and where sea breezes invite us to disconnect from daily hustle. How to Get to Playa de Obzor

Getting to Playa de Obzor is relatively straightforward, and the travel experience is, in itself, part of the adventure. Given its location on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, the nearest airports are Varna Airport (VAR) to the north and Burgas Airport (BOJ) to the south. Both offer connections to various European cities, especially during the peak summer season. We recommend flying to either of these two airports, as the distance to Obzor is quite similar, approximately 60-70 kilometers.

From the airport, you have several transportation options. The most comfortable, if you value independence, is to rent a car. This will allow you to explore the surroundings at your own pace and easily discover nearby coves and villages. The main road connecting Varna and Burgas (the E87) passes very close to Obzor, making the road journey very direct with good views of the coastal landscape and the foothills of the Stara Planina. If you prefer not to drive, there are taxi services or private transfers that you can book in advance. Additionally, there are regular buses connecting Obzor with Varna and Burgas, a more economical option that allows you to integrate more with local life. We personally enjoy the freedom that a car provides to improvise and discover every corner.

The Sand and Water

If there's something we love about Playa de Obzor, it's undoubtedly its sand and waters. We're looking at a blanket of fine golden sand that invites barefoot walks for hours. Its texture is soft and pleasant, perfect for children to build sandcastles or for us to simply relax in the sun. The width of the beach is impressive, meaning that even on the busiest days, you'll always find space to spread your towel without feeling crowded.

The waters of the Black Sea in this area are another of its great attractions. They are notably calm and shallow near the shore, making them a paradise for families with young children. The little ones can splash and play safely, while adults enjoy a refreshing swim without worries. The water temperature during the summer months is very pleasant, often exceeding 24-26°C, allowing us to enjoy long swims. Furthermore, the water clarity is remarkable, inviting us to dive in and enjoy a pristine natural environment. This type of seabed, predominantly sandy, makes entering the sea smooth and gradual, without unpleasant surprises like rocks or pebbles.

• Parking: Parking areas are available near the beach, although they can fill up quickly during peak season.
• Showers and Toilets/WCs: Clean and well-maintained facilities, essential for comfort after a sea swim.
