How to Get to Playa de Sant Simó

Getting to Playa de Sant Simó is surprisingly easy, making it even more attractive for a quick getaway or a long vacation. We always value ease of access, and this beach exceeds our expectations, offering us various options to reach this coastal paradise.

By Car

If we come by car, the C-32 Motorway is our best ally, connecting Mataró with Barcelona and Girona. Taking the Mataró east/center exit, we'll quickly find ourselves near the beach. The N-II also runs parallel to the coast and offers an alternative route, although perhaps a bit slower. Regarding Parking, Playa de Sant Simó has relatively close parking areas, some of them free on adjacent streets or regulated paid parking, especially during the high season. We always recommend arriving early to secure a good spot, especially on summer weekends.

By Public Transport

For those who prefer public transport, the R1 line of Rodalies de Catalunya offers a direct connection from Barcelona (Sants Station, Plaça Catalunya, Arc de Triomf, Clot-Aragó) to Mataró station. The journey is comfortable and offers beautiful views of the coast. Once at Mataró station, Playa de Sant Simó is within walking distance, perhaps a 15-20 minute walk east, following the promenade. There are also urban bus lines that bring us even closer to the beach, making access easier if we're carrying luggage or with small children. It's a sustainable and relaxed way to reach this fantastic Mataró beach.

The Sand and Water

When stepping onto Playa de Sant Simó, the first thing that catches our attention is its sand. It's fine, golden sand, very pleasant to the touch, perfect for laying out our towel and enjoying a good book or simply feeling it slip through our fingers. The texture is ideal for the little ones, who can build sandcastles without difficulty, and for adults seeking comfort under the sun. We won't find large rocks or pebbles that make walking difficult; the ground type is predominantly sand, ensuring a smooth entry into the sea.
