How to Get to Playa de Can Villar

Getting to Playa de Can Villar is relatively easy, and the approach experience is already part of the charm of the visit. Sant Pol de Mar is very well connected, facilitating access both by public transport and by private vehicle. We will explain the best options to make your journey as comfortable as possible.

By Car

If you choose to drive, you have several main routes. From Barcelona, the fastest way is to take the C-32 highway towards Girona/Mataró. You should take exit 111 (Sant Pol de Mar). Another option, more scenic but somewhat slower, is the N-II, which passes through numerous coastal towns and will allow you to enjoy the landscape. Once in Sant Pol de Mar, signs will guide you towards the beach area. Access to Playa de Can Villar is via the streets that run along the coastline. Regarding parking, as it is a beach in a semi-urban environment, you will find parking options on the streets adjacent to the promenade or in some of the designated areas of the municipality. In high season, it can be a bit more difficult to find a spot, so we recommend arriving early, especially if you visit the beach during July and August. Keep in mind that it is a beach that, although quiet, is appreciated by locals.

By Train

For us, the train is one of the most comfortable and sustainable options to get to Sant Pol de Mar. The R1 line of Rodalies de Catalunya (Commuter Rail) connects Barcelona (Sants Station, Plaça Catalunya, Arc de Triomf, El Clot-Aragó) directly with Sant Pol de Mar. The journey is very pleasant, running mostly along the sea, offering spectacular views of the coast. Sant Pol de Mar station is a short distance from the town center and the beaches. From the station, Playa de Can Villar is a 10-15 minute walk away, which will allow you to soak up the maritime atmosphere of the town. It is a pleasant walk that we recommend you enjoy.

By Bus

There are also bus lines connecting Sant Pol de Mar with other nearby towns and with Barcelona. Interurban transport companies offer regular services. While it is a valid option, for most of our travelers, the train is usually more direct and has better frequencies from Barcelona city. However, if you are coming from a nearby municipality with a good bus connection, this can be a practical alternative.
