When we think of a Mediterranean getaway that has it all, Playa de Cabrera always comes to mind as a top choice.

Here, life slows down. We find ourselves on an extensive sandy beach, with golden, fine sand that invites you to walk barefoot and build sandcastles with the little ones. It's a beach that breathes that sought-after air of tranquility, yet without giving up the vitality provided by its chiringuitos and the people who visit it. How to Get to Playa de Cabrera

Getting to Playa de Cabrera is relatively easy, whether you come by car or prefer public transport. We always recommend planning your route in advance, especially during high season, to avoid surprises.

By Car

If you choose to drive, the C-32 highway is your best ally. You should take exit 99, which will take you directly to Cabrera de Mar. Once in the municipality, the signs to the beach are clear. There are several parking areas nearby, both paid and some free options a bit further away. In summer, parking can be a challenge, so arriving early is key. We usually look for the designated areas along the promenade or on adjacent streets, although sometimes you have to walk a bit.

By Public Transport

The train is an excellent alternative, especially if you're coming from Barcelona or other points along the coast. The R1 line of Rodalies de Catalunya will drop you off at Cabrera de Mar - Vilassar de Mar station. From the station, the beach is a short 10-15 minute walk. It's a pleasant path that will already let you feel the sea breeze. For us, it's one of the most comfortable and sustainable ways to get there, avoiding the stress of parking.

Playa de Cabrera wins us over, first and foremost, with the quality of its sand and the clarity of its waters. It's a pleasure to walk along its shore.

Golden, Fine Sand

The sand here is a golden color and very fine, making it extremely pleasant to the touch. It's perfect for relaxing on a towel, for children's games, and even for a good morning jog. You won't find large pebbles or uncomfortable areas; everything is soft and comfortable. We always say that good sand is the foundation of a great beach experience, and Cabrera de Mar's sand more than delivers.

Calm and Crystal-Clear Waters

The waters of Playa de Cabrera are, in general, calm and of a serene blue. They usually maintain a pleasant temperature during the summer months, inviting you for a swim and fun. The entry into the sea is gentle and gradual, making it a very safe option for families with young children. The clarity of the water is notable, often allowing you to see the seabed, which for us is always a sign of cleanliness and quality. It's the ideal place for a refreshing dip or simply to float and let yourself be carried away by the calm.

• Chiringuitos: Several chiringuitos dot the beach, offering everything from refreshments and ice cream to tapas and light meals. They are ideal for having a drink in the shade or enjoying a meal with sea views. The atmosphere is usually relaxed and pleasant.
• Lifeguard Service: During the high season, the beach has lifeguard posts and qualified personnel to ensure the safety of swimmers. This gives us great peace of mind, especially when we go with children.
• Umbrellas and Sunbeds: For those who prefer not to carry their own equipment, there is the possibility of renting umbrellas and sunbeds at some points on the beach. It's a convenience we often take advantage of when looking for a day of total relaxation.
• Parking: As mentioned, there are parking options nearby, although it's advisable to arrive early in summer.
• Equipment Rental: At some chiringuitos or specific points, you can rent equipment for light water sports, like paddle surf boards or kayaks.
• Sports Area: In certain sections, nets for beach volleyball or areas for other sand sports are set up, adding an extra bit of fun for the more active.
