Upon arriving at Aiguadolç, we find a typical postcard of the Catalan coast: fine golden sand, crystal-clear waters inviting for a swim, and a horizon dotted with boats. It's a beach that breathes a different air than the more central beaches of Sitges, offering a quieter refuge without giving up the vitality that characterizes this iconic coastal town. We love Aiguadolç for its versatility. How to Get to Playa de Aiguadolç

Getting to Playa de Aiguadolç is relatively easy, and the options vary depending on our preferences and starting point. We always recommend planning a little to avoid setbacks, especially during high season.

By Car

If we come by car, the C-32 highway is the main access route to Sitges from Barcelona or Tarragona. Once in Sitges, we must follow the signs to the Port of Aiguadolç. The beach is right next to the port. The good thing is that the port has paid parking, which is a great advantage in a town where parking can be a challenge. It's a spacious and well-signposted parking lot, although in the summer months it can fill up quickly, so it's advisable to arrive early. From the parking lot, a short walk takes us directly to the sand.

By Public Transport

Sitges is very well connected by train (Rodalies de Catalunya) with Barcelona. Once at the Sitges train station, Playa de Aiguadolç is about a 20-25 minute walk away. It's a pleasant walk that borders the coast, passing through the town center and its most famous beaches before reaching the port. If we prefer not to walk that much, we can take an urban bus from the station that will drop us off closer to the Port of Aiguadolç. Taxis are also a quick and comfortable option from the center or the station.

On Foot or by Bicycle

For exercise and walking enthusiasts, getting to Aiguadolç on foot or by bicycle from the center of Sitges is a fantastic option. The promenade extends to the port, offering spectacular views of the Mediterranean and the silhouette of Sitges. It's a flat and very pleasant route, ideal for enjoying the coastal atmosphere before immersing ourselves in the waters of Aiguadolç. We usually choose this route when the weather is good, enjoying every step of the way.

Type of Sand

The sand here is fine and a beautiful golden color. It's a delight to walk barefoot on it, to feel its softness under our feet. It's ideal for laying out a towel and relaxing, for children to play building sandcastles, or simply for enjoying a good book. Unlike other beaches with pebbles or coarser sand, Aiguadolç offers us that classic Mediterranean beach feeling, comfortable and welcoming. Furthermore, being fine, it heats up quickly under the sun, inviting us to seek refuge in the cool water.

Water Quality

The waters of Aiguadolç are notably crystal clear and, generally, very calm. This is partly due to the natural protection provided by the bay and its location next to the port, which shields it from stronger currents. The water quality is excellent, a fact reinforced by the presence of the Blue Flag, a distinction that certifies not only the purity of the water but also the environmental management and safety of the beach. For us, this is a key indicator that we are in a place where hygiene and care for the environment are a priority.

The shallow depth of the shore and the absence of large waves make Aiguadolç a safe and very pleasant place for swimming, especially for the little ones or for those who simply want to enjoy a relaxing dip. We always say that immersing yourself in these waters is like entering a haven of peace, a perfect relief on hot summer days.
