How to Get to Playa de Ses Covetes

Getting to Playa de Ses Covetes is relatively straightforward, although it requires a short journey on secondary roads that take us into the rural landscape of Campos. However, the trip is part of the experience, offering us views of the Mallorcan countryside before reaching the coast.

By Car

The most comfortable and flexible way to get there is by car. From Palma, we must take the Ma-19 highway towards Santanyí and, once past Campos, follow the signs to Sa Ràpita or Es Trenc. Before reaching Es Trenc, we will find well-signposted turnoffs towards Ses Covetes. There are several parking areas near the beach, although in high season they may be paid and fill up quickly. Our recommendation is to arrive early to secure a good spot and avoid crowds.

By Public Transport

Public transport to Playa de Ses Covetes is more limited. During the high season, buses usually operate from Palma and other nearby towns to Sa Ràpita or Colonia de Sant Jordi, from where we could take a taxi or even walk a good stretch along the coast. However, for greater comfort and freedom, the car remains our preferred option for exploring this area of the island.

On Foot or by Bicycle

For nature and sports lovers, Playa de Ses Covetes is accessible on foot or by bicycle from Sa Ràpita or Es Trenc, via coastal paths that offer spectacular landscapes. It's an excellent way to enjoy the natural surroundings and the sea breeze before reaching our final destination.

The Sand and the Water

Playa de Ses Covetes is famous for the quality of its sand and the purity of its waters, characteristics that make it an idyllic place for swimming and relaxation. The beach is approximately 400 meters long, giving us enough space to find our own corner of peace.

Type of Sand

Here we find fine sand of an immaculate white, which feels incredibly soft underfoot. It's perfect for walking barefoot, building sandcastles with the little ones, or simply spreading out our towel and enjoying the sun. The absence of rocks or pebbles on the shore makes access to the water very comfortable and pleasant.

The Water

The waters of Ses Covetes are, without a doubt, its greatest treasure. Of an intense turquoise color and astonishing transparency, they are shallow with very gentle waves, making them ideal for swimming for both children and adults. We can wade in several meters and the water will barely cover us, allowing the little ones to play safely. This clarity also makes it an excellent place for snorkeling; although the sandy bottom doesn't offer a great variety of marine life, we can enjoy the sensation of swimming in a natural saltwater pool. The water temperature, especially in the summer months, is very pleasant, inviting us to spend hours cooling off and enjoying the surroundings.

Despite its natural and somewhat wild character, Playa de Ses Covetes has some essential services that make our stay more comfortable, without becoming a mass-tourism beach with heavy infrastructure. It's a perfect balance between nature and comfort.

Chiringuitos

On the beach and its surroundings, we will find some chiringuitos that offer us refreshing drinks, ice creams, and some light food. They are the ideal place to take a break from the sun, enjoy a snack with sea views, or even taste some typical local dish. They usually have a relaxed, beachy atmosphere that perfectly complements the atmosphere of Ses Covetes.

Parking

As mentioned earlier, there are parking areas near the beach. It's important to consider that, in high season, they may be paid and it's advisable to arrive early to secure a spot. The proximity of the parking to the beach is an advantage, especially if we are loaded with umbrellas and coolers.

Lifeguards

During the summer months and the high bathing season, Playa de Ses Covetes has a lifeguard service. This gives us additional peace of mind, knowing that qualified personnel are watching over our safety and that of our loved ones. It's a highly valued service, especially for families with children.

Umbrellas and Sunbeds

For those who prefer not to carry their own equipment, at some points on the beach it is possible to rent umbrellas and sunbeds. This allows us to enjoy the shade and comfort without worries, making a day of relaxation on the beach even easier.
