How to Get to Playa de S'Amarador

Getting to this paradise is part of the adventure and, fortunately, it's quite straightforward. Playa de S'Amarador is located within the Mondragó Natural Park, which means access is well-signposted and organized to preserve the environment. Typically, the most convenient option for most visitors is by car. From Santanyí, the journey is short and takes us directly to the park entrance.

Once inside the park, we'll find several designated parking areas. It's important to know that parking is paid, and the fee contributes to the maintenance and conservation of the park. From the main parking lot, a pleasant ten-minute walk along a well-maintained path through pine trees leads us directly to the sand of S'Amarador. If we prefer a longer stroll, we can park in the Cala Mondragó area and enjoy a coastal path that connects both coves, offering us spectacular views of the coastline. During the summer months, there are also public transport options or a tourist train from Santanyí and other nearby towns that bring us close to the park, reducing the need to use our own car.

The Sand and Water

Playa de S'Amarador delights us with sand that is pure silk. It is fine, almost immaculate white, perfect for laying out a towel and enjoying the sun or for children to build sandcastles effortlessly. The type of ground is predominantly sand, making it very comfortable for walking barefoot and for entering the sea.

But if the sand is a luxury, the waters of S'Amarador are a true gem. We're talking about crystal-clear waters, of a turquoise blue color that seems taken from a Caribbean postcard. They are notably calm and shallow at the shoreline, making it an exceptionally safe place for swimming, especially for families with children. The absence of strong currents and the gentle entry into the sea invite us to dive in without worry and enjoy a refreshing swim in an incomparable natural setting. The underwater visibility is excellent, allowing us to appreciate the seabed and, if we're lucky, the rich life that inhabits the Posidonia oceanica seagrass meadows, an ecological treasure of the Mediterranean that contributes to the purity of its waters.

• Spring (April-May): For us, this is one of the best times. The temperatures are mild and pleasant, perfect for walking and enjoying the sun without the intense heat of summer. The natural park is in full bloom, offering a spectacle of colors and scents. Furthermore, the influx of tourists is much lower, allowing us to enjoy the beach with almost exclusive tranquility.
• Early Summer (June): An ideal moment
