How to get to Playa de Formentor

Getting to Playa de Formentor is part of the adventure and, at the same time, an experience that offers spectacular landscapes. We, as experts in Balearic beaches, know that the route is almost as beautiful as the destination. The beach is located at the end of the famous Formentor peninsula, about 10 kilometers from Puerto de Pollença.

By car

During the high season months (usually from June to September), access by private car to the Formentor peninsula is restricted from a specific point, to preserve the natural environment. We recommend checking the annual restrictions carefully, as they can vary. Generally, you can drive to a paid parking lot located near the beach. However, it is most common to park in Puerto de Pollença or Alcúdia and use public transport.

By bus

The most comfortable and sustainable option during the high season is the bus. There are regular lines connecting Puerto de Pollença and Alcúdia with Playa de Formentor and the lighthouse. These buses usually have adequate frequencies and allow us to enjoy the landscape without worrying about parking. It is an excellent way to avoid traffic and contribute to the conservation of this beautiful place.

By boat

For a different experience and spectacular views from the sea, we often opt for a boat trip. From Puerto de Pollença and also from Alcúdia, boat excursions depart that take us directly to the beach. This option is not only relaxing but also allows us to admire the rugged coast and hidden coves of the Formentor peninsula from a unique perspective. It is a fantastic way to arrive and start enjoying the beauty of the surroundings before setting foot on the sand.

The sand and the water

The quality of the sand and the transparency of the water are, without a doubt, two of the greatest attractions of Playa de Formentor. Walking along the shore, we notice the fine sand soft under our feet, a pleasure for the senses.
