Es Trenc isn't just a beach; it's a piece of Mediterranean paradise that transports us directly to the most idyllic Caribbean coasts, without leaving our beloved Spain. With its nearly three kilometers in length, fine white sand, and breathtaking turquoise blue waters, this beach is undoubtedly one of the island's most precious jewels.

What makes Playa de Es Trenc so special is its status as a protected natural area. Here, you won't find large housing developments or hotel complexes invading the landscape. Instead, you're greeted by a pristine environment where dunes, pine trees, and native vegetation blend harmoniously with the sea. It's a place where nature rules, offering a space of freedom and connection with the surroundings that few Balearic beaches can match. We love its relaxed atmosphere, its vastness, and the feeling of being in a truly special place, far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

How to Get to Playa de Es Trenc

Getting to Playa de Es Trenc is part of the adventure, and although it's accessible, it requires a bit of planning, especially if you want to avoid the crowds during the high season. We always recommend several options for reaching this Mallorcan corner.

By Car

The car is the most common and comfortable option for most visitors. From Palma, the journey takes approximately 40-50 minutes. There are several paid parking areas near the beach. The most well-known are:

• Parking de Es Trenc/Ses Covetes: This is the most direct parking lot, located at the end of a road off the PM-717 highway. It's usually paid and fills up quickly in summer. From here, the beach is a short walk away.
• Parking de Sa Ràpita: Slightly further away, but often with more space. From Sa Ràpita, you can walk along the coast to Es Trenc, enjoying a pleasant seaside stroll.
• Parking de Colònia de Sant Jordi: Another option is to park in Colònia de Sant Jordi and walk along the coast. This walk is a bit longer, but very picturesque, passing by other small coves.

By Public Transport

Public transport to Playa de Es Trenc is more limited. There are bus lines that reach nearby towns like Campos or Colònia de Sant Jordi. From there, you might need a taxi or a considerable walk to get to the beach. Honestly, for the comfort and flexibility that a car offers, we prefer it for visiting Es Trenc.

By Bicycle

For cycling enthusiasts, getting to Playa de Es Trenc by bicycle is an excellent option. There are signposted routes and the landscape is beautiful. It's a sustainable and active way to enjoy the journey, especially if you're staying in the areas around Campos or Colònia de Sant Jordi.

The Sand and the Water

The sand and water of Playa de Es Trenc are certainly its greatest attractions. They're what make us fall in love and what bring us back to this paradise time and again.

The Sand

We're faced with fine sand, of a pristine white color that contrasts wonderfully with the blue of the sea. It's soft to the touch, perfect for walking barefoot for kilometers or simply lying down to sunbathe. The beach is flanked by a well-preserved dune system, which serves as a home to specific flora and fauna and reminds us of the importance of respecting this natural environment. These dunes, covered with vegetation like sea holly or juniper, add a wild and authentic touch to the landscape, protecting the beach from the wind and creating a scenic backdrop.

The Water

The waters of Playa de Es Trenc are famous for their transparency and their turquoise and aquamarine hues. The clarity is such that you can often see the seabed with total clarity, even at several meters deep. The waters are calm and shallow near the shore, making them ideal for swimming and enjoyment for the whole family. The absence of rocks along most of the sandy shore contributes to that feeling of a natural swimming pool. This combination of white sand and crystal-clear waters is what has earned Es Trenc its reputation as the 'Mallorcan Caribbean'. We love diving into them and feeling the freshness and purity they convey.

Services and Facilities

Given its status as a Maritime-Terrestrial Natural Park, Playa de Es Trenc is characterized by a more limited range of services compared to other urban beaches. The goal is to preserve its pristine state, and we greatly appreciate this, as it helps maintain its natural charm. However, we do find some basic amenities for our visit.

Available Services:

• Parking: As we already mentioned, there are paid parking lots nearby, although at some distance from the shoreline.
• Chiringuitos: Along the beach, especially at its ends, you can find some wooden beach bars that offer drinks, ice cream, and some simple food options. They're perfect for refreshing yourself or having a snack without straying too far from the sea. We appreciate that their integration into the landscape is as discreet as possible.
• Lifeguard Service: During the high season, the beach has lifeguard services for our safety, which gives us great peace of mind, especially if we're with children.
• Bathrooms/WC: Near the chiringuitos or in the parking areas
