How to Get to Cala Tuent

Road Access

The most common route to reach Cala Tuent is by road. From the Ma-10, the main road that winds through the Serra de Tramuntana, you must take a turnoff that leads along a winding and narrow, but well-paved, road. This road, the Ma-2141, is the same one that leads to the famous Torrent de Pareis and Sa Calobra, but before reaching the latter, we will find the turnoff towards Cala Tuent. It is important to drive with caution, as the road is full of tight curves and steep slopes, offering spectacular views that invite you to stop and contemplate the landscape. The journey from Sóller or Lluc can take between 45 minutes and an hour, depending on traffic and the driver's skill. We strongly recommend enjoying the scenery and taking the necessary time for the trip.

Parking Options

Upon arriving at Cala Tuent, we will find a relatively small parking area that is often saturated, especially during the summer months. We always advise arriving early in the morning to secure a spot, or considering visiting the cove outside the high season. If the parking lot is full, it may be necessary to park on the shoulders of the access road, which adds a short walk to the beach. It is important to respect the signs and not block the passage to ensure a pleasant experience for everyone.

Access by Boat or Ferry

For those seeking a different and more relaxed experience, there is the possibility of reaching Cala Tuent by boat. During the high season, there are ferry services that depart from the picturesque Port de Sóller and take us directly to the cove. This option allows us to admire the impressive coastline of the Serra de Tramuntana from a unique perspective, contemplating the cliffs and sea caves that adorn this stretch of coast. It is a fantastic alternative if we want to avoid driving on the mountain road and enjoy an unforgettable sea voyage.

Hiking

For hiking and adventure lovers, Cala Tuent is also accessible on foot via several mountain trails. One of the most well-known is the one connecting the cove with the famous Torrent de Pareis, although this route is demanding and requires experience and good physical condition. Other less challenging routes allow us to explore the surroundings and enjoy the native flora and fauna of the Serra de Tramuntana. We always recommend planning the route well, carrying enough water, and wearing suitable footwear if we choose this exciting way to arrive.

Type of Sand and Ground

The beach of Cala Tuent is characterized by a mix of fine sand and small pebbles or stones, giving it a unique and pleasant texture to the touch. The predominant ground type is sand, but the presence of these small stones is a constant, especially on the shore and in areas where the sea has shaped the landscape. This combination keeps the water incredibly clear, as the sand is not easily stirred up, and at the same time, offers us a comfortable surface to lie on and enjoy the sun.
