Upon arrival, we find a U-shaped inlet flanked by low cliffs covered in vegetation, offering natural shade and perfect shelter from the wind. The cove is famous for its fine, golden sand and turquoise waters that invite swimming and underwater exploration. It is the perfect place for those seeking a more serene and picturesque beach experience, away from the hustle and bustle of large tourist beaches, but with all the necessary services for a comfortable and pleasant day.

How to Get to Cala Sa Nau

Getting to Cala Sa Nau is part of the adventure and, at the same time, quite simple if you follow the proper directions. Our recommendation is always to go with time, especially in high season, as parking can be limited. The cove is about 10-15 minutes by car from Felanitx, and at similar distances from coastal towns like Porto Colom or Cala d'Or. If we come from Palma, the journey is approximately one hour.

By Car

This is the most common and flexible option. From Felanitx, we must take the Ma-4010 road towards S'Horta and, before reaching this town, follow the signs indicating 'Cala Sa Nau'. The road will take us directly to a parking area, which is usually paid during the summer months. From the parking lot, a well-marked path with some stairs leads directly to the sand. It is a short and pleasant walk, about five to ten minutes, which already gives us the first spectacular views of the cove.

Public Transport

Public transport in this area of Mallorca can be a bit more limited for reaching the cove directly. There are bus lines connecting Felanitx with Porto Colom and other nearby towns, but from there, we would probably need a taxi or walk a good stretch to get to Cala Sa Nau. For this reason, a rental car or a taxi service are the most practical options if we do not have our own vehicle.

Bicycle

For cycling enthusiasts, the area offers beautiful routes. We can reach it by bicycle from Felanitx or Porto Colom, enjoying the rural and coastal landscape. However, it should be considered that the final access to the cove involves a stretch of path and stairs, so we will have to leave the bicycle in the designated parking area.

The Sand and the Water

The true magic of Cala Sa Nau lies in the perfect combination of its sand and its waters. The sand is fine and golden, a delight for the feet, ideal for spreading out our towel and enjoying the Mallorcan sun. Being a relatively small cove, about 60 meters long, it creates an intimate and sheltered atmosphere. The shoreline is gently sloping, making it very safe for the little ones, who can play without worries near the water's edge.

But if the sand is attractive, the water is simply hypnotic. The waters of Cala Sa Nau are of an intense turquoise color, with a transparency that allows us to see the seabed with total clarity. This clarity is the result of the excellent water quality and the natural protection offered by the surrounding cliffs. Immersing yourself in them is a refreshing and revitalizing experience. The water temperature is ideal during the summer months, inviting long swims and snorkeling to explore the rich marine life that inhabits among the rocks and the Posidonia oceanica, the seagrass that is an indicator of the health of our Mediterranean.

The cove is protected from currents and strong waves, making it a very calm and safe bathing spot. It is a pleasure to float in its waters, let yourself be carried away by the serenity of the surroundings, and simply contemplate the natural beauty that surrounds us. The combination of soft sand and crystal-clear waters makes this cove an unbeatable destination for relaxing and enjoying the sea at its finest.
