How to Get to Cala Esmeralda

Getting to Cala Esmeralda is relatively straightforward, although as with many popular coves in high season, parking can be a challenge. The cove is located in the Cala d'Or area, a well-known tourist hub in Santanyí. If we're coming from Palma or the airport, the most direct route is to take the Ma-19 towards Santanyí and then follow the signs to Cala d'Or. Once in Cala d'Or, signs will guide us to the different coves, including Cala Esmeralda.

By Car

The car is the most comfortable option for most visitors, as it offers flexibility. There are some parking areas on nearby streets, but they tend to fill up quickly, especially in the summer months. Some nearby residential areas and hotels have parking, but it's usually private. We may have to park a bit further away and walk a few minutes, which, given the landscape awaiting us, is no inconvenience. We recommend arriving early in the morning if we want to secure a good spot.

By Public Transport

We can also reach Cala d'Or by bus from different points on the island, such as Palma or Manacor. Bus lines usually have stops in the center of Cala d'Or, from where the cove is a short walk away. It's an eco-friendly option and allows us to not worry about parking. During the tourist season, bus frequency is higher, making access to this beautiful Cala Esmeralda beach easier.

• Parking: Although it's not an exclusive cove parking lot, there are parking areas on adjacent streets, some paid and others free but in high demand.
• Chiringuitos: We have at least one chiringuito on the cove itself or very close by, where we can refresh ourselves with a cold drink, have an ice cream, or enjoy a light snack. They are ideal for not having to leave the beach in search of food.
• Lifeguard Service: The presence of lifeguards during the high season gives us great peace of mind, especially if we're with children. Safety is a priority on this Balearic beach.
• Sunbeds and Umbrellas: For those who prefer not to carry their own equipment, there is the possibility of renting sunbeds and umbrellas, guaranteeing us a beach day with all the comforts. It's a highly valued option for relaxation.
