How to Get to Cala Canutells

Getting to Cala Canutells is relatively straightforward, making it a very accessible option for any visitor. If we land at Menorca Airport (MAH), the cove is about a 10-15 minute drive away, which is a great advantage for those wanting to start their holidays without delay. From Mahón, the island's capital, the journey is equally short, approximately 15-20 minutes, following the signs towards Sant Climent and then towards the cove.

By Car

The car is, without a doubt, the most comfortable option to reach Cala Canutells and explore the surroundings. From Mahón, we take the Me-12 road towards Sant Climent and, once there, follow the signs that will guide us directly to the cove. It's a well-signposted and well-maintained road. Regarding Parking, the cove has a free parking area, although its capacity is limited, especially during the peak season months (July and August). Our recommendation is to arrive early in the morning to secure a good spot, or consider the option of a taxi if we don't want to worry about parking.

By Public Transport

During the summer season, there are bus services connecting Mahón with Sant Climent, and from there, although there is no direct line to the cove, we could opt for a taxi or walk, if the distance is not an impediment for us. However, for most travelers, a rental car remains the most practical alternative to enjoy the freedom of movement on the island.

The Sand and Water

When we talk about Cala Canutells, one of the first aspects that come to mind is the quality of its sand and the purity of its waters. The cove boasts fine, golden sand, incredibly soft to the touch, inviting us to lay out a towel and enjoy long hours of sun. It's the kind of sand children love for building castles and adults appreciate for its comfort.

The predominant type of seabed in the bathing area is sand, which allows for a smooth and gradual entry into the sea. The waters of Cala Canutells are of astonishing clarity, with shades ranging from the deepest blue to the most vibrant turquoise, inviting us to dive in without hesitation. They are usually very calm waters, protected by the cliffs that flank it, making them ideal for bathing for all ages, especially for the youngest members of the family. Underwater visibility is excellent, making this cove a small paradise for snorkeling enthusiasts, who can explore the marine life near the rocks.

Cala Canutells is a beach that, despite its intimate size, is very well equipped to ensure a comfortable and pleasant beach day for all its visitors. We find a good variety of services that make our stay even more enjoyable:

• Lifeguard Service: During the high season, the beach has a lifeguard service, which provides great peace of mind, especially if we are traveling with children. Their presence ensures we can enjoy bathing with greater safety.
• Showers and Toilets/WC: It has Showers to rinse off the salt and sand after swimming, as well as Toilets/WC that are kept clean and accessible, a detail we always appreciate positively.
• Chiringuitos and Restaurants: On the beach itself or very close by, we find at least one Chiringuito where we can refresh ourselves with a cold drink, enjoy an ice cream, or even savor a light dish typical of Menorcan cuisine. The proximity of these establishments allows us to spend the whole day at the cove without needing to go elsewhere to eat.
• Sunshades and Sun Loungers: For those who prefer comfort, there is the possibility of renting Sunshades and sun loungers, allowing us to relax to the maximum without having to carry our own beach gear. It's a very convenient option for enjoying shade and rest.
• Parking: As mentioned earlier, the cove has a free Parking area, although it's important to consider that in high season it can fill up quickly.
