How to get to Cala Bona

Getting to Cala Bona beach is relatively easy, as it is well connected within Mallorca's road network. If you are coming from Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI), the drive will take you approximately one hour, following the Ma-15 towards Manacor and then the signs to Son Servera and Cala Bona. The route is scenic and will allow you to appreciate part of the island's interior before reaching the coast.

For those who prefer not to drive, public transport is an excellent option. The intercity bus network (TIB) connects Cala Bona with Manacor, Artà and other nearby points of interest, as well as with Palma. The frequencies are good, especially during the high season, which facilitates access from other towns and tourist centers. Once in the urban center of Cala Bona, the beach is easily accessible on foot from most accommodations, as it extends along the promenade that connects Cala Bona with Cala Millor. As for parking, you will find public parking areas in the streets adjacent to the beach, although in the summer months it can be a challenge to find a spot, so we recommend arriving early or considering using taxis or VTC if you are not staying nearby.

The sand and the water

One of the biggest attractions of Cala Bona beach is, without a doubt, the quality of its sand and the clarity of its waters. We are faced with a beach of fine, golden sand, very pleasant to the touch and perfect for building sandcastles with the little ones or simply for spreading out a towel and enjoying the sun. The shore is shallow and the entry into the sea is very gentle, making it an exceptionally safe place for children and people with reduced mobility.

The water of Cala Bona is typically Mediterranean: crystal clear and of a turquoise blue color that invites you to take a dip. Thanks to its orientation and the protection of the artificial breakwaters that delimit it, the waters are usually very calm, almost like a natural swimming pool. This calm is ideal for swimming without worries, practicing snorkeling and observing shallow marine life, or simply floating and being rocked by the gentle waves. We have spent hours enjoying the feeling of its temperate waters, which maintain a pleasant temperature for much of the year. The cleanliness and quality of these waters are, in fact, one of the reasons why Cala Bona proudly flies the Blue Flag, a distinction that certifies its environmental excellence and the quality of its services.

We find a complete infrastructure ranging from the most basic to leisure and dining options. Along the beach and the promenade, you will find:

• Lifeguard Service: Safety is a priority, and the beach has lifeguard posts that monitor the bathing area during the summer season, providing peace of mind for families.
• Sunbeds and Umbrellas: For those who prefer comfort, there are areas where you can rent sunbeds and umbrellas, allowing you to enjoy the sun and sea breeze with maximum comfort.
• Chiringuitos and Restaurants: The promenade is dotted with a wide variety of chiringuitos and restaurants offering everything from snacks and refreshing drinks to full meals with local and international specialties. It's a pleasure to sit on one of their terraces and enjoy the sea views.
• Equipment Rental: For lovers of water activities, there are rental points for water scooters, kayaks and paddle surf boards, offering a fun way to explore the coast.
• Children's Area: Thinking of the little ones, you will find small play areas near the beach, as well as the safe and shallow space of the shore for them to play with complete freedom.
• Full Accessibility: Cala Bona strives to be an inclusive beach. It has access ramps for people with reduced mobility, walkways that facilitate transit on the sand and, on occasion, amphibious chairs for assisted bathing. We consider this a very positive point and worthy of mention.
