How to Get to Playa Hermosa

Getting to Playa Hermosa is quite straightforward, making it an accessible destination for almost everyone. We, for example, arrived from Tijuana, and the journey along the scenic highway is, in itself, an experience worth having. The Tijuana-Ensenada toll road offers us spectacular views of the Pacific, with cliffs and the intense blue of the sea accompanying us for much of the trip. From Tijuana, the journey takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on traffic.

If we are coming from Southern California, like San Diego, we cross the border at San Ysidro and follow the signs to Ensenada. It is advisable to have Mexican auto insurance and proper documentation. Once in Ensenada, the Playa Hermosa beach is very easy to find, as it stretches along the western zone of the city. We can access it through various streets that lead to the boardwalk or to direct access points to the sand. There are several parking areas available, both paid and on the surrounding streets, although during high season it can be a bit more challenging to find a spot near the main entrance.

For those who prefer public transportation, Ensenada has a network of urban buses that can drop us off a short distance from the beach. There are also taxis and private transportation services available throughout the city. From the moment we arrive, the ease of finding parking (although on busy days it may require a bit of patience) is already a plus. There are designated areas, and sometimes we can find parking on the nearby streets.
