If we travel by car, we must head towards the village of Castañeras, very close to Cudillero. Once there, we will find signs towards the beach. The last stretch of the road will take us to an improvised or designated Parking area to leave the vehicle, usually free, although in high season it can be difficult to find a spot and road access may be regulated. From this point, the rest of the journey is on foot.

The path descends along a dirt track and stone steps. It is a relatively easy descent, but caution is needed, especially if it has rained, as it can be slippery. It is not a path suitable for people with reduced mobility, baby strollers, or wheelchairs. The descent offers us spectacular views of the coast, anticipating the beauty that awaits us. The duration of the walk from the parking lot to the sand is approximately 10-15 minutes. We recommend wearing comfortable and suitable footwear for the uneven terrain. And, of course, don't forget your camera, because the panoramic views from the path are simply unforgettable. The experience of getting there is, in itself, a small adventure that prepares us for the immersion in this Asturian paradise.

It is essential to understand that Playa del Silencio (Gavieru) is a wild and natural beach, and precisely there lies a large part of its charm. This means that services and facilities are minimal, almost non-existent. Do not look for beach bars, restaurants right on the beach, showers, public toilets, or lifeguard service. This is a place for total disconnection, to enjoy nature in its purest state, without the comforts of urban beaches. The only 'service' we can talk about is the informal Parking area found at the top, before the descent to the cove.

This absence of infrastructure is, in our opinion, a blessing, as it helps preserve the immaculate beauty of the place. However, it implies that we must be foresighted and self-sufficient. It is essential to bring everything we might need: water, food, sunscreen, towels, and a bag to collect our waste. There are no trash bins on the beach, so it is our responsibility to take back everything we bring. The absence of a Blue Flag is precisely due to this lack of services and not to the water quality, which is excellent. In short, Playa del Silencio (Gavieru) invites us to a more primitive beach experience, more connected with the environment, where natural beauty is the only protagonist.
