How to Get to Playa de Bahinas

Getting to Playa de Bahinas is relatively straightforward, although, like a good Asturian beach, it has its own charm in the access. We always recommend planning the route in advance, especially if it's your first time in the area. The beach is located in the municipality of Castrillón, very close to towns like Santa María del Mar and Piedras Blancas.

Access by Car

The most comfortable way to get there is by car. From Avilés, the route is quite direct, taking the AS-237 road towards Piedras Blancas and then turning off towards the coast. From Oviedo or Gijón, take the A-8 until you reach the vicinity of Avilés and from there, follow the same signs. There is signage that will guide you to the beach. Once nearby, you will find a designated parking area, although during the busiest months it can fill up quickly, so we advise you to arrive early.

Public Transport

Access by public transport is more limited. There are bus lines connecting Avilés with Piedras Blancas and other nearby towns, but from there, you will likely need a taxi or a considerable walk to reach the sand. Honestly, for the comfort and freedom it offers, we suggest opting for the car.

On Foot or by Bicycle

For nature and sports lovers, it is also possible to reach Playa de Bahinas on foot or by bicycle, via coastal paths that offer spectacular views. It's a wonderful option to combine exercise with enjoying the landscape, although it requires good physical condition and appropriate footwear. Remember that some areas may have slopes.

The Sand and Water
