How to get to Playa de San Miguel

Accessibility is one of the great virtues of Playa de San Miguel in Adra, a factor that we, as travelers, always greatly value. Its privileged location in western Almería considerably facilitates access from various points in Andalusia and nationally.

By car

If our choice is to travel by car, the A-7 motorway becomes our main ally, structuring the connection to Adra. After taking the exit corresponding to the municipality, we will find ourselves within minutes in the vicinity of the beach. Adra, being a coastal town with developed tourist infrastructure, has several parking areas. We will find public parking options, including some free ones, especially on the streets adjacent to the extensive promenade. We always advise arriving early in the morning during the high season months (July and August) to secure a good spot, although the considerable length of the beach and the layout of its accesses usually contribute to a more fluid distribution of visitors, making it easier to find a space. The proximity of these parking areas to the promenade is a convenience we deeply appreciate, as it allows us to leave the vehicle and step onto the sand in an instant, avoiding long journeys with umbrellas, coolers, and all the beach gear.

Public transport

Although the road network is excellent, direct public transport options to the beach may vary in frequency and reach, depending on our point of origin.

• Bus: Adra is well connected by intercity bus lines that link it with other important towns in the province of Almería, such as El Ejido or the capital, and also with cities in the province of Granada. Once we arrive at the Adra bus station, Playa de San Miguel is at a perfectly walkable distance. We recommend this pleasant walk through the town, which allows us to discover local life before reaching the seashore. Urban bus stops (if available) are usually well signposted and facilitate movement within the municipality.
• Train: It is important to note that Adra does not have its own train station. The nearest railway stations with greater connectivity are in Almería capital or Granada. From either of these cities, it would be necessary to continue the journey by bus or by renting a vehicle. For us, the combination of train and bus can be a sustainable alternative, although it requires more planning.
