How to get to Playa Flamenca

Getting to Playa Flamenca is relatively easy, as it has excellent connections and clear signage, making it an accessible destination for everyone. If you're coming by car, the most direct way is via the AP-7, taking exit 750 (Orihuela Costa). From there, signs for 'Playa Flamenca' will guide you without any problem. The beach is located within the urbanisation of the same name, which makes orientation much easier. The journey from Alicante-Elche Airport (ALC) is approximately 50-60 minutes, while from Murcia-Corvera Airport (RMU) it's a bit shorter, about 40 minutes. We always recommend renting a car if you want to explore the surroundings freely, although it's not essential to enjoy the beach.

For those who prefer public transport, there are several options. From Torrevieja or from other urbanisations in Orihuela Costa, there are bus lines that connect directly to the Playa Flamenca area. These lines are usually quite frequent during the high season, allowing you to get around without worries. Furthermore, the good road infrastructure makes taxis and VTC services a comfortable and fast alternative, especially if you're travelling in a group or with a lot of luggage. Once in the area, you'll find parking on the streets adjacent to the beach, although in the summer months it can be a bit more difficult and require a little patience to find a good spot. However, the proximity of the urbanisation to the beach even allows you to walk from many accommodations.

The sand and the water

The main calling card of Playa Flamenca is, without a doubt, its sand and its waters. We were captivated from the first moment by the fine, golden sand that characterises this cove. It's the kind of sand that invites you to walk barefoot, build sandcastles with the children, or simply lie down and feel its warmth under the sun. Unlike other beaches with pebbles or coarse sand, here softness is the star, making every step a pleasure. Furthermore, its cleanliness is exemplary, which contributes to obtaining the prestigious Blue Flag year after year, a seal of quality that gives us great confidence.

But if the sand is a delight, the water is a true marvel. The waters of Playa Flamenca are famous for their clarity and calmness. Being protected by small breakwaters and its configuration as a cove, the waves are usually very moderate, making it an ideal place for swimming for all ages. The turquoise and blue hues of the sea are hypnotic, inviting you to dive in and enjoy a refreshing dip. The water temperature, especially in the central summer months, is very pleasant, allowing for long swims without feeling cold. We, who are snorkelling lovers, have enjoyed observing marine life near the rocks, although it's not a main destination for this activity, there's always something to see. The combination of fine sand and calm waters creates an idyllic setting for relaxation and family fun.

Services and facilities

One of the strong points of Playa Flamenca is the complete range of services and facilities it offers, designed to ensure the comfort and safety of all visitors. We always highly value a beach being well-equipped, and for this reason, Playa Flamenca does not disappoint. To begin with, it has showers and foot showers distributed along the promenade, perfect for washing off the sand before returning home or to your accommodation. Public toilets/WCs are also available and are kept in good condition, a detail we always appreciate, especially when we go with children.

Safety is a priority, and the beach has an efficient lifeguard service during the bathing season, with watchtowers and qualified personnel who ensure the peace of mind of bathers. This gives us great peace of mind. Regarding accessibility, although we don't classify the beach as 'full accessibility' in the strictest sense for all types of disability without assistance, it does have access ramps that facilitate reaching the sand for people with reduced mobility and baby strollers. On occasion, amphibious chairs are also offered. For those who wish to spend the day in total comfort, there is the possibility of renting sun umbrellas and sun loungers.
