How to get to Playa de Morouzos

Getting to Playa de Morouzos is relatively easy, although, as is often the case with many Galician treasures, it requires a small detour from the main routes. If we are coming from A Coruña or Ferrol, we must take the AC-862 road towards Ortigueira. Once in the municipality, the signs will guide us without difficulty to the beach. The access is comfortable and well signposted, which facilitates arrival even for first-time visitors. We always recommend using a GPS navigator, but intuition and local directions are usually enough.

Access and parking

Access to the beach is through several entrances, and one of the great advantages of Playa de Morouzos is that it has extensive parking areas. This is a plus, as in high season, finding a place to park the car can be a real headache at other beaches. Here, we have enough space to leave our vehicle and easily approach the sand. Furthermore, there are wooden walkways that help us cross the dunes and comfortably reach the shore, while also preserving this delicate ecosystem.

The sand and the water

The main calling card of Playa de Morouzos is, without a doubt, its sand. We always highlight the quality of Galician sand, and here we find a perfect example: fine sand of a golden hue that invites us to walk barefoot and build endless sandcastles. It is a soft-to-the-touch sand, ideal for lying down and enjoying the sun, or for the little ones to play with total freedom and safety. The expanse of the beach allows us to always find a quiet corner, even on the busiest days.
