How to Get to Playa de Esmelle

Getting to Playa de Esmelle is relatively straightforward, and the journey itself is part of the experience, as it allows us to enjoy the green landscapes of the Ferrol region. We recommend the car as the most comfortable and flexible option, especially if you have luggage or are traveling with children.

By Car

From the city of Ferrol, the journey is short, about 15-20 minutes. We need to take the DP-3603 road towards the coast. The signage to the area's beaches, like Esmelle or San Xurxo, is quite clear. Once we approach the beach, you'll find designated parking areas, some free and others with a fee during high season. They aren't usually excessively large, so in peak August or on good weather weekends, it's advisable to arrive early to secure a good spot. The road is good and the views along the way are a delight.

By Public Transport

Although a car is most recommended, there are also public transport options. During the summer months, the Ferrol urban bus line (UTRANSA) usually reinforces its services to the beaches, including Esmelle. It's an economical and sustainable option, ideal if you don't want to worry about parking. However, we advise checking the schedules and frequencies in advance, as they can vary depending on the season and day of the week. The stops are usually conveniently located near the beach access points.

• Showers and Toilets/WC: We find modules with showers and public toilets, which is essential for washing off the sand and salt after a good day at the beach. The availability of clean toilets is a plus we always appreciate.
• Chiringuitos: There's nothing like enjoying a cool drink or a snack with sea views.
