How to Get to Playa de Arealonga

Getting to Playa de Arealonga is a simple and pleasant experience, as its privileged location in the municipality of Cedeira makes it very accessible. We always recommend planning the route in advance, although the signs are usually clear once you approach the town.

By Car

For many of us, the car is the most comfortable and flexible option to get to Arealonga. From A Coruña, we will take the AP-9 towards Ferrol, then turn off onto the AG-64 and finally the AC-566 which will lead us directly to Cedeira. Once in the town, the beach is well signposted. The journey from A Coruña city usually takes about an hour, while from Ferrol, the distance is much shorter, approximately 30-40 minutes.

• Parking: The beach has nearby parking areas, which is a great advantage, especially during the summer months. Although in high season it can be a bit more difficult to find a spot at peak times, there are always options a few meters from the sand. We always advise arriving early to secure a good spot and avoid crowds.

By Public Transport

If we prefer not to drive, there are public transport options, although they are less direct. You can reach Cedeira by bus from Ferrol, which in turn has connections with other Galician cities. Once at the Cedeira bus station, Playa de Arealonga is a distance that can be covered on foot (about 15-20 minutes) or, if we prefer, by local taxi. It is a good option for those who want to forget about the car and enjoy the scenery during the journey.
