How to Get to Playa Gaviota

Getting to Playa Gaviota in Cayo Santa María is an adventure that begins long before setting foot on the sand. The main access to Cayo Santa María, and thus to our beloved Villa Clara beaches, is through the Abel Santamaría International Airport (SNU) in Santa Clara, the provincial capital. From there, a picturesque journey of approximately 1.5 to 2 hours by bus or taxi awaits, crossing the famous pedraplén, a road built over the sea that connects the main island of Cuba with the keys of northern Villa Clara.

The pedraplén, a marvel of Cuban engineering, is an experience in itself. This nearly 48-kilometer road offers us spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean, with its crystal-clear waters on both sides.
