Flights and Airports

The province of Holguín has a major international airport, the Frank País International Airport (HOG). This airport receives direct flights from various cities in North America, Europe, and other parts of the Caribbean, greatly facilitating access to the region. Once at Frank País Airport, Playa Morales is approximately 60-70 kilometers away, a journey we consider quite manageable.

Transfers from the Airport

From the airport, there are several options to get to Playa Morales:

• Taxis: They are one of the most comfortable and direct options. At the airport exit, you will find authorized taxis that can take you directly to your accommodation or to the beach. We always recommend agreeing on the price before starting the trip.
• Car rentals: For those who want more freedom to explore the province of Holguín and its surroundings, renting a car is an excellent alternative. Major car rental companies usually have offices at the airport. It is important to consider that Cuban roads, although generally in good condition in tourist areas, may have some deficiencies on less-traveled stretches. Signage is clear on main routes, but a GPS or an updated map is always useful.
• Tourist buses or scheduled transfers: Many hotels and tour operators offer transfer services from the airport to the main tourist destinations in Holguín, including areas near Playa Morales. If you have a reservation at a hotel in Guardalavaca or nearby, you can likely coordinate a transfer with them.

From Holguín City

If you are already in the city of Holguín, the distance to Playa Morales is similar, about 60 kilometers. You can take a taxi, which will be the fastest option, or use intercity public transport if you are looking for a more economical option, although the latter may be less direct and require more time.
