Getting to Playa de Črnikovica is a simple and pleasant part of the experience, especially if you are staying in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar region. The beach is conveniently located near Opatija, one of Croatia's tourist gems, making it easily accessible from various locations. We always recommend planning the trip in advance to ensure the best experience.

By Car

If traveling by car, the A7 motorway is the main access route to the Kvarner region. From Rijeka, the D8 road (the old coastal road) will take you directly to Opatija and, from there, to Playa de Črnikovica. The journey is scenic, offering spectacular views of the Adriatic. Once in Opatija, follow the signs towards the center or the coast. The beach is usually well signposted. We advise considering that parking in Opatija, especially during the high season, may be paid and sometimes limited. There are several parking areas near the Lungomare promenade, from where a short walk will take you to the beach.

Public Transport

For those who prefer public transport, local buses regularly connect Opatija with nearby towns. If you are staying in Opatija, you can take a bus that runs along the coast or, what is even more charming, take a walk along the famous Lungomare promenade. This historic 12-kilometer trail stretches from Volosko to Lovran, passing through Opatija and, of course, Playa de Črnikovica. Walking along the Lungomare is an experience in itself, offering panoramic views and the opportunity to discover small coves and cafes along the way. On Foot

If your accommodation is in Opatija or Volosko, the best way to get to Playa de Črnikovica is undoubtedly on foot, strolling along the Lungomare. It is a relaxing and flat walk, suitable for all ages. The beach is a short distance from the center of Opatija, making it very accessible for guests of nearby hotels and apartments. We have found that many visitors choose this option, as it allows them to enjoy the fresh sea air and the stunning views of Kvarner while heading to their relaxation destination.
