From the moment we step onto its sand, we feel a special connection with this Ibizan corner, a place where time seems to stand still and the only worry is the next dip in its crystal-clear waters.

Cala Pada stands out for its relaxed atmosphere and suitability for families. It is not the beach for big parties or uncontrolled crowds, but a refuge where children and adults can enjoy equally. Its shallow waters and gentle waves make it a perfect natural pool for the little ones, while adults find on its shores the ideal place to disconnect, read a good book, or simply contemplate the horizon. It is, without a doubt, one of those Santa Eulalia beaches that we cherish in our memory and always recommend to those who ask us for an authentic destination on the white island.

How to Get to Cala Pada

Getting to Cala Pada is relatively easy, and the options are varied, making it accessible to almost all visitors. We always value comfort, and in this case, Cala Pada does not disappoint.

By Car

If you choose the car, which is the most common option for many, you should head to the east of the island, following the signs to Santa Eulalia and, once there, to Es Canar. Cala Pada is located just before Es Canar and is well signposted. It has several nearby parking areas, some free and some paid, which makes it easy to find a spot even in high season. However, we recommend arriving early in July and August to secure a good spot.

By Bus

For those who prefer public transport, there are regular bus lines connecting Santa Eulalia with Es Canar, and Cala Pada has its own stop. It is an economical and sustainable option, perfect if you are staying in Santa Eulalia or Ibiza town and don't want to worry about parking.

On Foot or by Bicycle

If you are lovers of walks or cycling, there are beautiful coastal paths connecting Cala Pada with Santa Eulalia to the south and with other coves like Cala Martina and Es Canar to the north. It is a fantastic way to enjoy the Mediterranean landscape and get some exercise before a refreshing swim. We have walked these paths on several occasions and the experience is always rewarding, with spectacular views that invite you to stop and take photos.

By Ferry or Boat

During the high season, small ferries and tourist boats connect Cala Pada with Santa Eulalia and Es Canar. This is a very picturesque option, especially if you are traveling with children, as they will love the short sea crossing. It also offers a different perspective of the Ibizan coast, allowing you to admire the beauty of the coves from the sea.

The Sand and Water

One of the biggest attractions of Cala Pada is, without a doubt, the quality of its sand and the transparency of its waters. When we talk about Cala Pada beach, we automatically think of its characteristic sand.

Fine, Golden Sand

The sand of Cala Pada is predominantly fine and of a soft golden tone, very pleasant to the touch. It is perfect for building sandcastles, walking barefoot, or simply lying down and relaxing in the sun. Unlike other Ibizan coves that may have pebbles or rocks, here the type of ground is almost exclusively sand, which contributes to its cozy and family-friendly atmosphere.

Crystal-Clear and Calm Waters

The waters of Cala Pada are exceptionally crystal-clear and, what is even better, very calm. The cove is protected by a small bay, which minimizes waves and makes it a safe place to swim, even for the little ones. The entrance to the sea is gentle and gradual, without sudden drops, which adds an extra plus of safety for families. We have spent hours enjoying these waters, whether swimming, snorkeling, or simply floating and letting ourselves be carried by the calm.

Posidonia Oceanica

We mention that, as in many Balearic beaches, in Cala Pada we can find remains of Posidonia oceanica on the shore, especially outside the high season. Posidonia is a vital marine plant for the Mediterranean ecosystem, responsible for the clarity of the water and the rich underwater biodiversity. Although sometimes it may not be the most aesthetically attractive, its presence is a sign of the good health of the sea and a reminder of the importance of protecting our natural environment. The beach bars and services usually keep the bathing area clear, but it is something we value and respect as part of the natural essence of the cove.
