We always recommend using a GPS navigator, entering 'Cala La Manzanera, Calpe' directly to avoid detours. From the center of Calpe, the journey is short, just a few minutes by car.

Once in the area, the main challenge can be finding parking, especially during the summer months or on weekends. The cove does not have its own parking lot and most spaces are on-street parking in the vicinity of the Bofill buildings. Sometimes, we have to drive around a bit until we find a free spot. If you prefer not to worry about the car, another option is to walk from the Calpe promenade, although it's a somewhat longer walk in the sun. Also consider using bicycles or electric scooters if you're staying nearby, a comfortable and eco-friendly way to reach this particular cove.

The Sand and Water

• Parking: As we already mentioned, parking is on the streets adjacent to the cove, but there is no exclusive parking for bathers. It's a service that is 'nearby', but not 'at' the cove.

Best Time to Visit

Choosing the best time to visit Cala La Manzanera can make a big difference in the experience. Based on our experience with Alicante's beaches, we usually recommend spring (April, May, early June) and autumn (September, October) as the ideal times. During these months, the climate in Calpe is extraordinarily pleasant, with mild temperatures perfect for walking, sunbathing, and enjoying the sea without the oppressive summer heat. Winter also has its charm for walking and enjoying the landscape, although swimming may be only for the bravest. The main reason is the composition of its floor: being pebbles and coarse sand, it can be less comfortable for small feet than fine sand. Furthermore, the lack of direct services like showers, playgrounds, or lifeguards means parents must be more attentive and prepared.

However, if your children are a bit older and enjoy adventure and exploration, Cala La Manzanera can be very attractive. The calm waters are ideal for them to swim and practice snorkeling safely, always under supervision. The possibility of exploring the rocks and looking for small marine creatures can be a very entertaining activity. Additionally, the unique architectural environment offers great visual appeal that can spark children's curiosity. We recommend:

• Bringing water shoes for everyone, especially for children.
• Packing enough snacks and drinks, as there are no beach bars at the cove.
• Constantly supervising the little ones, as there is no lifeguard service.
• Considering it more for a 'photographic' visit or a quick swim, rather than a full day of playing in the sand, unless the children are used to this type of beach.

• The Promenade and Playa de la Fossa/Arenal-Bol: If you're looking for more extensive beaches with all services, Calpe's main beaches are perfect. Ideal for walking, practicing water sports, or simply relaxing on the fine sand. Here you'll find the typical Calpe beach with more services.
• The Port and the Fish Market: Don't miss the afternoon fish auction, an authentic and traditional spectacle. Afterwards, enjoy dinner at one of the many fresh fish restaurants surrounding the port.
• The Old Town of Calpe: With its narrow, cobbled streets, white houses, and colorful staircases, it's a charming place to stroll and discover the town's history. Here you'll find craft shops and charming bars.
