How to Get to Cala Forn

Accessing Cala Forn beach is relatively straightforward, offering options for both those traveling by private vehicle and those preferring public transport. The cove is located in a well-connected area within L'Ametlla de Mar.

By Car

The most comfortable option is by car. From the AP-7 highway (exit 39A L'Ametlla de Mar) or the national road N-340, signs towards the southern coves (direction Les Tres Cales) will guide us. In the vicinity of the cove, we generally find free parking areas, although in high season it's advisable to arrive early to secure a spot.

By Train

L'Ametlla de Mar has a train station with connections to Tarragona and Barcelona. Once at the station, Cala Forn beach is about 3-4 kilometers away. We can opt for a local taxi or, if we feel like a walk, follow the GR-92 coastal path for about 30-40 minutes, enjoying the coastal views.

By Bus

Bus lines connect L'Ametlla de Mar with nearby towns. To get to Cala Forn from the town center, local bus services can be limited; it's advisable to check schedules or consider a taxi.

The Sand and Water

The quality of the sand and the purity of the water are, without a doubt, the main attractions of Cala Forn beach. The sand is a golden hue, fine and soft to the touch, ideal for lying down and for the little ones to play building castles without worries.

The waters are exceptionally clear, with shades ranging from emerald to deep blue, allowing us to see the seabed clearly. They are calm and shallow in the first few meters, making it a very safe place for swimming, even for young children. The cove is naturally protected from strong waves, which contributes to this serenity. The water temperature, especially in summer, is very pleasant, inviting long, relaxing swims.

Best Time to Visit

Choosing the ideal time to visit Cala Forn beach depends on our preferences, but there are periods that offer especially attractive characteristics.

Spring (April-May) and Early Summer (June)

For us, these months are ideal. The weather is mild, with pleasant temperatures inviting us to enjoy the sun without intense heat. The crowds are smaller than in mid-summer, allowing for a more relaxed and tranquil atmosphere. The water is already suitable for swimming, although perhaps a bit cooler.

Mid-Summer (July-August)

These are the months of peak attendance. If we're looking for heat, guaranteed sun, and a livelier atmosphere, this is the time. All services are in full operation. We should expect to find the cove more crowded and prices somewhat higher.

Late Summer (September)

September is a fantastic month. The heat begins to soften, but the water temperatures remain very pleasant. The influx of tourists decreases notably, offering a more intimate and relaxed experience. It's perfect for extending the summer with greater calm.
