How to Get to Cala des Talaier

Getting to Cala des Talaier beach is part of the adventure and, at the same time, the reason for its charm and relative tranquility. Being a pristine cove, it doesn't have direct car access, which preserves it from crowds and keeps it in its natural state. We always say that the best rewards require a little effort, and this is one of those cases. There are two main routes to reach this hidden paradise.

From Cala en Turqueta

One of the most popular options to get to Cala des Talaier is on foot from Cala en Turqueta. If you're coming by car, you'll need to head to the Cala en Turqueta parking lot. Keep in mind that, in high season, this parking lot fills up very early, so we recommend arriving first thing in the morning to secure a spot. Once you've parked the car, you'll have to walk about 15-20 minutes to Cala en Turqueta. From there, the path to Cala des Talaier is a section of the famous Camí de Cavalls, signposted and relatively easy to follow. It's a coastal trail of about 15 additional minutes, which borders the coast and offers spectacular views of the Mediterranean. The route is mostly flat, although with some uneven sections, so we recommend wearing comfortable and suitable footwear for walking.

From Son Saura

The other alternative to get to Cala des Talaier beach is from Son Saura. As with Cala en Turqueta, there is a designated parking lot at Son Saura, which also tends to fill up quickly in summer. From the Son Saura parking lot, the walk to Cala des Talaier is a bit longer, approximately 20-25 minutes. You'll follow the signs for the Camí de Cavalls, which will first take you to Son Saura beach (or to the two Son Saura beaches, Gran and Petita) and then, continuing east, you'll reach Cala des Talaier. This path is also very pleasant, winding through pines and offering panoramic views of the coast. It's an excellent option if you want to combine a visit to several coves on the same excursion.

Tips for the Journey

Regardless of the route you choose, it's essential to go well prepared. We always bring:

• Sufficient water: There are no fountains or sales stalls at the cove or on the path.
• Sun protection: Hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen are essential, especially in the summer months, as much of the path is in full sun.
• Suitable footwear: Sandals or flip-flops may be comfortable for the beach, but for the trail, sports shoes or trekking sandals are much more recommended.
• Food and snacks: If you plan to spend several hours, prepare a picnic, as you won't find any beach bars or restaurants at the cove.
• Bag for trash: It's crucial to keep the cove clean and take all your trash back with you. We want Cala des Talaier beach to remain a pristine paradise for everyone.
