How to Get to Cala de Aiguablava

Getting to Cala de Aiguablava is relatively straightforward, although, as with many of the most popular coves on the Costa Brava, it may require some planning during the high season. The cove is located about 4 kilometers south of the charming town of Begur, in the province of Girona.

By Car

Undoubtedly, the car is the most comfortable and flexible option to access Aiguablava. From Begur, the GI-653 road will take us directly there. If we are coming from further away, the C-31 highway is the main access route to the area. Once near the cove, you will find several parking options, although it is important to consider that, in summer, these parking lots tend to fill up quickly and may be paid. Our recommendation is to arrive early in the morning to secure a good spot and avoid crowds. There are parking lots both at the top, with a short walk down to the sand, and closer to the beach, although the latter are the first to fill up.

By Public Transport

Public transport to reach the cove directly is more limited. There are some bus lines connecting Begur with nearby towns like Palafrugell or Girona, but to get to the cove from Begur, it is often necessary to take a taxi or, if we are adventurous, to walk (although the distance and slopes can be considerable under the summer sun). During the months of July and August, the Begur town council usually operates a shuttle bus service connecting the town center with the main coves, including Aiguablava. It is an excellent option to avoid parking problems and contribute to the sustainability of the environment.

Hiking

For hiking lovers and those seeking spectacular views, it is possible to reach Aiguablava via the Camino de Ronda. From Begur or from other nearby coves like Sa Tuna or Sa Riera, the coastal trails offer impressive panoramas, although they require good physical condition and proper footwear.
