How to Get to Playa de Cortadura

Getting to Playa de Cortadura in Cádiz is relatively easy, and the transportation options are varied, making it accessible for all visitors. Its location in the southern part of the city, connected to the isthmus that links Cádiz with the mainland, facilitates access both by private vehicle and public transport.

By Car

If we come by car, the most direct way is to take the CA-33 highway, which is the main entry and exit route for Cádiz. The beach stretches along this road, so it is easy to spot. Finding parking, especially in high season, can be a challenge, but Playa de Cortadura has several free parking zones along its length, as well as near the chiringuitos. We recommend arriving early in the summer months to secure a good spot. Furthermore, there are well-signposted accesses from the road that lead directly to different points on the beach.

By Urban Bus

Cádiz has an excellent urban bus network, and several lines have stops at Playa de Cortadura. Lines 1 and 5 are the most common for getting there from the city center or from the train and bus station. It is a very comfortable and economical option, allowing us to forget about the car and enjoy the journey while contemplating the urban and coastal landscape of Cádiz. The stops are strategically located near the main accesses to the beach and the chiringuitos.

By Commuter Train

For those who prefer the train, the C-1 commuter line (Cádiz - Jerez - Airport) has a station called 'Cortadura' which is very close to the beach. It is a fantastic option if we are coming from nearby towns like San Fernando, Puerto Real, or El Puerto de Santa María. From the station, it's just a short walk to the sand, making it a very practical and relaxing alternative to avoid traffic and parking.

However, being a beach open to the Atlantic, sometimes, with more intense westerly winds, some waves can appear, which adds a touch of fun for those who like to play with the surf, but always within a framework of safety thanks to the lifeguard surveillance.
